How it started

It all started in a basement garage in Papatoetoe, Auckland in February 2014. The husband and wife team of Wayne and Nina put the station together with just enough equipment to get on air - livestreaming 24/7 over the internet. Within a month, Wayne and Nina had opened another studio in Brisbane and continued to produce quality radio.

As our listener numbers grew, so did the need for some serious radio transmitting equipment. Wayne and Nina purchased an FM transmitter and had a broadcasting antenna donated by Hi-Tech Aerials in Christchurch. The antenna was installed, the FM transmitter was fired up, and we were broadcasting locally on 107FM throughout Manukau City.

Fast forward to 2019, and Darren Masters joined hre team. Darren has his own studio in Panmure, and it was quickly decided to merge our stations and form The SouthEast Radio Network (TSERN) and upgrade our equipment once again. New mixers, new announcers mics, a change of playout software and an upgraded transmitter means we can broadcast further than ever before.

We work hard to bring you quality radio, and we hope you enjoy our content. We live, breathe and sleep radio, and we hope you continue to keep supporting us by tuning in to one of our stations and enjoying invigorating radio.
